Position: CORPORATE SAFETY MANAGER
 
Job Summary:
 
Responsible for corporate level implementation of health, safety and environmental policies, procedures and guidelines as instructed by OSHA, MSHA, the Continental Health and Safety Manual and site/owner’s regulations.
 
Essential Duties:
 
• Oversees and makes decisions related to project safety, health and environmental policies.
 
• Develop, review and enforce corporate and site-specific safety policies and procedures.
 
• Responsible for the implementation and record keeping of all required employee training related to Health and Safety.
 
• Facilitate incident investigation, root cause analysis, site remediation, and closure of corrective actions.
 
• Seek and share best practices within the organization and across the Heavy Industrial Construction environment
 
• Appropriately allocate safety resources throughout the Company’s operations and directly supervise safety personnel on jobsites.
 
• Liaise as necessary between the Company, client, insurance carriers and regulatory agencies in order to provide assistance and resolution in regards to audits, remedial actions and other Health and Safety related issues.

Qualifications:
 
• Four year degree in Safety and Health or equivalent is preferred with at least three (3) years of safety experience or a combination of education/multiple years of experience in Heavy Industrial Construction, with a knowledge of safety/environmental principles and techniques.
 
• Demonstrate ability to identify known potential exposures and lead implementation of corrective actions.
 
• Demonstrate computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office suite programs.
 
• Demonstrate management, leadership and interpersonal skills with ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing and the ability to train others.
 
• Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
 
• Ability to travel and work overtime (may include nights and weekends).
 
• Must be at least 18 years of age, pass drug screen and background check.

Work Conditions:
 
• Primary environment will be corporate office. Secondary environment will be construction jobsites during safety audits, site inspections, job site visits, etc. Secondary environment will consist of outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat, humidity and exposure to building materials and dust.
