Position: HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR
 
Job Summary:
 
Must be able to drive and operate backhoes, excavators, dozers and loaders of various sizes and weights (rubber tire and track) with proficiency and accuracy under varying working conditions and at times on uneven terrain.
 
Essential Duties:
 
• Follow Daily Procedures and Protocols as set forth in job orientations and trainings and Safety Handbooks. Properly follow OSHA safety procedures.  Bring problems to the attention of the Superintendent or Safety Facilitator.
 
• Operate heavy equipment for the purpose of earthmoving and material handling.
 
• Operate heavy equipment along a given line and grade.
 
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment and report defects or needed repairs to supervisor.
 
• Perform housekeeping task and other duties as assigned by supervisor
 
• Full-time position, benefits, hourly pay
 
Qualifications:
 
• Considerable knowledge of heavy-equipment operating principles.
 
• Working knowledge of hazards and safety precautions common to heavy equipment operations.
 
• Ability to perform manual work requiring periods of extensive physical exertion and potential exposure to adverse weather conditions.
 
• Must have ability to take instructions via hand signals and radio communications.
 
• Must be able to operate equipment with both hand and feet controls, and the coordination to operate both types of control simultaneously, and must be able to manipulate controls to regulate speed and direction of equipment movement.
 
• Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.
 
• Able to travel and work overtime (May include nights and weekends).
 
• Must be at least 18 years of age, pass drug screen, and background check.

Work Conditions:
 
• Construction site with mobile construction equipment. 
• Outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat, humidity, and exposure to building materials and dust.
